We know the time after a loved one has died can be very difficult.

Rev Chris Dolby and the ministry team provide ongoing support and flexibility at times of bereavement allowing you to give thanks for the unique person you knew and loved in a way that gives comfort and hope.

From the moment you are in touch we will offer as much support as we can. Rev Dolby or a member of the ministry team will meet you and help you plan a funeral service whether that be in a Church or at a crematorium, burial in your local churchyard, or interment of ashes that is fitting for your loved one as we commend them to God's mercy and safekeeping.

All of our Churchyards are open to provide a resting place for  your loved ones for you to visit.

Congratulations, choosing to get married in church is a wonderful decision. Not only will you have a beautiful venue, more importantly you will be asking God to bless you in your new lives together. It is also a big decision, and you will have lots of questions about the process. When you are ready you can get in touch with Reverend Chris Dolby. If you have been baptised but want to make a new and more in-depth commitment to Christ, you may wish to consider being confirmed. At a Confirmation service, which is led by a Bishop, those who are to be confirmed declare their faith in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and undertake to follow Christ in their daily lives. Please contact Rev’d Chris to discuss the necessary preparation sessions and the possibility of confirmation.

Christening (or baptism) marks the beginning of an amazing journey of faith for yourself or your child and a special day for all your friends and family. There is no age limit to being baptised into the church. 

One of the first things you will need to do is be in touch with your local church and speak to Reverend Chris who will always be delighted to hear from you.

Godparents are really special not just on the day itself when the child is baptised but for the child’s life even when they are grown up themselves. It is a lifelong commitment Baptisms can take place as part of the usual Sunday service or by special arrangement at another time to suit you and your family. When choosing Godparents they will need to have been christened themselves, however, if they haven't been christened contact us as there may be other ways they can be involved. 

As an alternative it is also possible to have a ceremony of thanksgiving or blessing following the birth of a child. Remember anyone can be baptised and at any age.
