The Eucharist on Wednesdays
The Eucharist is celebrated twice on a Wednesday at St Peter’s, East Bridgford.
At 10am there is celebration of Holy Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer which is followed by a conversation over coffee and biscuits and sometimes even a slice of cake!
At 7pm there is a celebration of the Holy Eucharist which follows Order One of Common Worship and provides an opportunity to come to church for those whose commitments at home or at work make it difficult to do so at other times during the week.
On the final Wednesday of the month the service at 7pm is a Healing Eucharist and includes the laying on of hands (by the priest) and anointing with oil of healing. Afterwards, from time to time, there is a social event, for example: a fellowship meal, a chat over a drink at the pub, the screening of a film (see Spiritual Cinema)
