Bishop Paul has published his Christmas message for 2019 in which he encourages Christians to connect with and distribute God’s power, hope and light of Christmas, and as our nation votes for a new government.

The candlelit winter concert at St. Peter’s Church features Quadravox and Local Vocals, with additional poetry readings. The event takes place on Saturday 7th December 7pm to 9pm. Tickets are available from local shops – see poster for more details
The traditional carol singing round East Bridgford will take please on Sunday 22nd December after the Festival of Carols and Readings at St. Peter’s Church. Meet at Main Street car park by 8.00pm and bring a torch. All are welcome to join the fun.
This year’s Remembrance Sunday services will be held at St. Peter’s, East Bridgford and St. Augustine’s, Flintham.

As part of preparations for welcoming Jesus again at Christmas Revd Ruth is suggesting that we might consider reading something through the season of Advent. The book chosen for this year is ‘Footsteps to Bethlehem’ by Bill Merrington. It is a gentle series of daily reflections for Advent, inviting you to journey towards Christmas on a pilgrimage of transformation.

A Fosse Group ‘All Age Communion for Harvest‘ will be held at St.Wilfrid’s Church, Screveton on Sunday 6th October at 11:00am. All are welcome.

St Mary’s and St Wilfrid’s Harvest Supper Saturday 5th October 7.00pm
In anticipation of the reorganisation of the PCCs we are jointly arranging a Harvest Supper at the Village Hall in Car Colston. Please come and join us for a home cooked 2 course meal with licensed bar. It will be a great opportunity to meet and welcome Ruth to our church and village communities

The Reverend Ruth Colby will be licensed by the by the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham, the Right Reverend Paul Williams, and installed by the Archdeacon of Nottingham, The Venerable Phil Williams, as Priest-in-Charge of the Parishes of East Bridgford with Kneeton; Car Colston with Screveton and Flintham on Wednesday 2nd October 2019 at 7.30pm in St Peters Church, East Bridgford.
All are welcome to the service which will see the start of a new chapter in the life of the church in the communties of the Fosse Group. Please arrive well before the start of the service at 7:30pm to ensure you get a seat. Refreshments will be provided afterwards in St. Peter’s Academy.
The Start Course is for anyone who have been inspired to explore matters of faith further. It involves six sessions of 90 minutes, with video clips and discussion, in a home setting. A course will begin on Tuesday 24th Sept, 7.30pm, Screveton, and hosted by Edward Hine.
